11 of us played 10 games! Welcome new guy Fool, an ex-cow-orker and new skating buddy. Next week will be the last of BobK's recent return to RussCon: after next week's RussCon, Bob will be heading out to his new post in Qatar (if I remember correctly) and we probably won't see him for a while.

Veganism: A few weeks ago I started eating vegan. I mentioned it in my blog and got possibly the most comments I've ever gotten - which I guess isn't surprising, since as a long-time vegetarian I have noticed that unusual eating choices often elicit energetic (and sometimes tiresomely argumentative) responses. (I have zero interest in debating the subject nor in receiving lame old vegetarian/vegan jokes which I've almost certainly already heard more times than I can recall.) Anyway, just a heads up that I am vegan now, i.e. I have quit eating eggs, cheese, milk products, etc. which pretty much only matters to you if you are intending to give me food. I thought going vegan might be difficult (in terms of food cravings) but so far it's not. There is logistical difficulty, though, since a whole lot of pre-made food is not vegan. E.g. as many visitors to my home know, I have eaten a lot of Morningstar Farms vegetarian foods - but they are not vegan (they have egg whites and milk), so I won't be buying any more. The end of an era!

Spanish/Esperanto: 2pm Sunday at Texspresso on Anderson Lane (by Alamo Drafthouse Village) is the weekly basic informal Spanish RussCon study group as well as the Esperanto formal study group.

If anyone in Austin wants about 5 shelf feet of Doctor Dobbs Journal and some other computer magazines from the past decade for free, let me know.

If anyone in Austin wants size 10 rollerblades (a used pair which _fool passed on to me) for free, let me know.
